An engineering companion to the orbital research, with dimensions, mass allocations, and twelve figures. The proposed workloads originate on Earth, run in orbit, and return their results to the ground.

Engineering a 250 kW Orbital Compute Satellite
The 250 kW IT OC-250 concept covers power, energy storage, radiators, structure, interfaces, and verification requirements. This central-core configuration precedes the mosaic architecture.
Preliminary study, not flight-qualified. Original document preserved in full.
Document scope
Sizing the first system.
- How should power, cooling, and compute be arranged in an initial orbital concept?
- Which interfaces and allocations need verification before the components are detailed?
Reading this revision
Before the mosaic architecture.
Revision A studies a central structure carrying compute and spacecraft support equipment, with deployable photovoltaic arrays and radiators. Later studies explored a different arrangement: a mosaic of tiles and several independent vehicles. This archive traces that evolution; it describes a different configuration from Revisions C and D.
A Phase A concept that predates the Revision C mosaic studies and Revision D drawings. Dimensions and masses from these revisions are not interchangeable. The document sets out assumptions and verification requirements; it does not constitute a qualified system, a completed preliminary design review, or a manufacturing package.
